    5. MassMutual: 4.42% market share, $8,957,135,502 in direct premiums
    6. Lincoln Financial: 4.00% market share, $8,101,991,163 in direct premiums
    7. Nationwide: 3.59% market share, $7,279,699,603 in direct premiums
    8. State Farm: 2.93% market share, $5,944,519,655 in direct premiums
