Arch Insurance International and Consilium have announced senior leadership appointments as both firms expand their underwriting and claims capabilities.
Arch Insurance International has promoted Sophie Mansouri to the role of UK professional indemnity (PI) underwriting manager, effective immediately. This move follows Arch’s decision to consolidate its London Market Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) and UK Regional PI operations into a single unit. Mansouri now leads an eight-person underwriting team responsible for managing the UK PI portfolio, which includes coverage for both traditional and non-traditional professions such as technical and scientific services. She joined Arch in 2023 from Hiscox, where she held the position of UK large renewals team manager, bringing over 11 years of commercial lines experience to her new role.
The integration of Arch’s regional and London Market expertise into a single UK PI team aims to provide brokers with broader access to insurance solutions and facilitate a more consistent underwriting approach. The UK PI team is part of Arch’s broader PI division, which also includes the London Market large account PI team led by Austen Barnes and a new PI delegated authority segment managed by Paul Sharpe. Recently, Arch promoted Alex Clark to healthcare underwriting manager, overseeing underwriting activities across the company’s healthcare portfolio.
Consilium, the specialty re/insurance broking arm of Aventum Group, has appointed Nick Woodward as its chief claims officer (CCO). Woodward joins from Optio, where he was claims director, bringing nearly 30 years of experience in both legal and claims functions across Lloyd’s, the London Market, and MGAs. As CCO, Woodward will oversee Consilium’s nine-person claims advocacy team and collaborate with Duncan Childs, head of technical claims and coverage, to develop Consilium’s claims handling framework.
