VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A dramatic incident unfolded on Sunday evening when a green SUV crashed into the Hunt Hale Alfa Insurance building located on Clay Street near Adams Avenue at approximately 8:45 p.m. The collision resulted in substantial damage to the front of the building, with the vehicle smashing through both the glass and brick facade. Video footage obtained by Vicksburg Daily News captured the moment of impact and the subsequent events. The video shows the SUV crashing into the building, followed by the passenger door opening. Initially, one person attempts to exit the vehicle, while the driver tries to reverse but is unable to move due to the debris. Both occupants then exit the SUV, climb over the debris, and fall inside the building. Shortly after, they exit the building and flee east on Clay Street. According to Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones, law enforcement was informed that one of the suspects was en route to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the crash. Family members of one of the suspects arrived at the scene to provide this information. One person has been taken into custody, although details remain limited.
