Porch Group Renews Distribution Partnership with Goosehead Insurance
Porch Group has renewed its distribution partnership with Goosehead Insurance, expanding its channel reach as it works to scale premiums under its newly launched Porch Reciprocal Exchange. The announcement comes as Porch re-engages its agency relationships following a period of flat premium growth. The company has identified profitable scaling of its exchange as a central strategic objective.
Porch launched the Reciprocal at the start of 2025, shifting its model toward a high-margin, commission- and fee-based structure. According to Porch CEO Matt Ehrlichman, the company is now focused on expanding premium volume while applying proprietary data to refine risk selection. “After a couple of years of managing premiums to roughly flat, the launch of the Porch Reciprocal Exchange at the start of 2025 marks the time where we have moved back to offense,” Ehrlichman said. “Now as a high margin, commission and fee-based operator, we are thrilled to be growing premiums and leveraging our unique data to ensure better risk selection at the Reciprocal.”
The launch of the Porch Reciprocal Exchange followed regulatory approval from the Texas Department of Insurance in late 2024, enabling Porch to restructure its homeowners’ business around a reciprocal model. The transition included converting its subsidiary, Homeowners of America Insurance Co., into the Porch Insurance Reciprocal Exchange. This format allows Porch to reduce direct exposure to weather-driven underwriting losses while targeting profitability through fees and commissions, which are expected to make up approximately 20% of gross written premiums.
Goosehead president and CEO Mark Miller confirmed that the partnership renewal involves Homeowners of America and now includes distribution of Porch’s new insurance product. The agreement is expected to begin with product availability in Texas. “We’re renewing our partnership with Homeowners of America and expanding it to include the new Porch Insurance product,” Miller said. “This collaboration allows us to enhance product offerings for our clients, starting with the Porch Insurance product launch in Texas. By aligning our efforts, we’re creating a path forward that should deliver unique home protection and innovative pricing solutions.”
Porch has also taken steps to extend its agency distribution strategy beyond Goosehead. The company has announced partnerships with independent agencies including Roamly Insurance Group, Evertree Insurance Services, and MassDrive Insurance. These relationships aim to expand reach and product availability, particularly to homebuyers, while supporting agencies with lead generation tools and centralized claims support.
