NFP, a leading provider of property and casualty insurance, benefits consulting, wealth management, and retirement planning as part of the Aon group, has appointed Darrin De Stephanis as Senior Vice President, Capital Solutions and Commercial Surety Growth Leader. Based in Vancouver, De Stephanis will report to Adrian Pellen, co-leader of NFP’s Construction and Infrastructure (C&I) Group.
Key Appointment Strengthens NFP’s Construction Services
This strategic appointment supports NFP’s plans to enhance its construction and infrastructure services across North America, with a particular focus on the commercial surety sector. De Stephanis will concentrate on market development, relationship management, and expanding surety-related services to meet the growing demand for specialized support in the increasingly complex construction environment.
Industry Experience and Background
De Stephanis brings over a decade of experience in the surety industry to his new role. Most recently, he managed a national commercial surety portfolio at Intact Insurance, where he was responsible for underwriting and strategy across a broad range of clients. His career began as a broker with Aon, where he focused on surety and subcontractor default insurance. De Stephanis holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and currently serves on the social committee of CFA Society Vancouver.
Aligning with NFP’s Broader Objectives
NFP states that De Stephanis’s appointment aligns with its broader objective of providing integrated risk management solutions in the construction and infrastructure sectors. His role is part of a collaborative approach within the C&I Group, which includes co-leader John Hyland and Thomas Henn, head of surety for NFP. Together, the team provides clients with tailored advice on bonding, capital access, and risk transfer strategies.
Serving Clients Across North America
NFP’s C&I Group operates in both the US and Canada, serving clients involved in large-scale development, infrastructure, and construction projects. The group works with both public and private entities, offering contract surety, commercial surety, and financial guarantee solutions.
