Forbes 2025 World’s Best Life Insurance Companies List
Life insurance serves as a crucial financial safety net for families in the event of a loved one’s death. However, these policies are significant investments that become more expensive over time. According to the 2025 Global Insurance Outlook report from the Deloitte Center for Financial Services, life insurance premiums are expected to increase by 1.5% in advanced markets and by up to 5.7% in emerging markets this year.
Choosing a life insurance company and plan requires careful consideration. “Clients are looking for insurers to provide them with policies tailored to their unique coverage needs without breaking the bank,” says Jeff Wilcoxon, senior strategy and corporate development principal at VIU by HUB, a digital insurance brokerage.
To aid consumers in assessing their options and to provide insurers with a tool to evaluate their peers, Forbes has ranked the World’s Best Insurance Companies 2025 in three categories: homeowners, auto, and life. This third edition of the rankings was created in partnership with market research firm Statista, which surveyed more than 45,000 people across 15 countries in early 2025.
Respondents were required to have held at least one insurance policy for their home, car, or life within the last three years. They were then asked a series of questions about their satisfaction with their insurer and whether they would recommend it to others. Participants rated their insurer based on criteria including the advice insurance agents offered, customer service, price performance, transparency, and claims service.
The responses were analyzed and scored, resulting in 304 insurance companies with the highest scores being listed on one or more of the final lists—130 companies on the homeowners insurance list, 155 on the auto insurance list, and 150 on the life insurance list.
