Nationwide Insurance is set to cancel approximately 100,000 pet insurance policies.
The company attributes this move to the rising costs of veterinary care.
Policy cancellations are scheduled to happen between the spring of 2024 and the summer of 2025.
Some insurance products have already been discontinued in some states due to the impact of inflation.
Nationwide Insurance stated they understand the disappointment customers may feel and will honor existing policy protections until their current terms expire.
They also assured that their pricing will remain fair and appropriate, considering the plan, pet, and breed.
Customers whose policies are affected will receive a written notification before the cancellation.
