Australia: AI Implementation Gains Momentum in Life Insurance

    By Sarah Si | February 25, 2025

Australia’s life insurance industry is showing a strong commitment to embracing Artificial Intelligence (AI), according to a new study. The research, conducted by Equisoft and LIMRA in collaboration with Universal Conversion Technologies, reveals that a substantial proportion of life insurers are actively preparing to implement AI solutions.

The study, titled ‘Assessing Data Readiness for AI in the Life Insurance Industry’, found broad agreement on AI’s importance. “All companies agree that AI is an important element of their digital transformation roadmap,” the study stated.

This positive outlook suggests the industry is moving towards greater automation and data-driven decision-making. While specific details of the planned AI applications weren’t provided in the article, such initiatives could encompass improvements in underwriting processes, claims management, and customer service.
