    Insurance Firms Announce Key Leadership Appointments

    Key Leadership Appointments Announced at AXA XL, Incline P&C Group, and RSUM

    AXA XL, Incline P&C Group, and Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM) have all announced key leadership appointments designed to bolster their positions in the specialty insurance and reinsurance markets.

    AXA XL Appoints Simon Rees as Chief Underwriting Officer

    AXA XL has named Simon Rees as its new chief underwriting officer for North America Programs, effective April 1st. Rees, currently the chief reserving actuary for the Americas, will report to Tim Whisler, wholesale solutions, Americas. Rees joined the company in 2017 and has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry.

    Whisler commented that Rees’s expertise will strengthen the company’s capabilities in the specialty program market. “His expertise will be instrumental in strengthening our existing partnerships and evaluating and onboarding new programs as we focus on growth in this important segment of our business,” Whisler said.

    Thomas Wafer Joins Incline P&C Group Board

    Incline P&C Group has elected Thomas Wafer to the board of directors for each of its insurance carriers as an independent director. Wafer brings more than 40 years of experience in the reinsurance and insurance sectors, including leadership roles at Willis Re/Gallagher Re North America and Third Point Re (USA) Ltd. He will support Incline’s program management and risk solutions efforts.

    Eric Quinn Becomes President of RSUM

    Ryan Specialty has appointed Eric Quinn as president of its specialty underwriting segment, Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM), effective immediately. With this promotion, Miles Wuller, chief executive of RSUM, will no longer hold the title of president. Quinn joined RSUM through the acquisition of All Risks in 2020 and most recently served as executive vice president of Capital and Product Strategy.
