Lilium Halts eVTOL Program After Funding Setback
A planned investment has fallen through, which will shut down Lilium’s eVTOL business. The German company, which was developing the Lilium Jet, announced that a group of investors had failed to finalize an acquisition of the company’s assets. This development casts a shadow over the future of the electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft project.
The Lilium Jet eVTOL model was expected to enter commercial service, carrying four to six passengers, by the end of 2026.
This setback represents a significant blow to the company’s plans. The Lilium Jet model aimed to enter commercial service by the end of 2026, designed to transport four to six passengers. The aircraft was expected to revolutionize urban air mobility. The collapse of the investment deal leaves the company’s ambitious goals in question.
