Horizon Casualty Services: Setting the Standard for Workers’ Compensation and Auto PPO in New Jersey

Horizon Casualty Services, Inc. (HCS), an affiliate of Horizon BCBS NJ (Horizon), is making waves in the realm of workers’ compensation (WC) and personal injury protection (PIP) services within New Jersey. HCS provides a critical service that many of us may need at some point in our lives, particularly when faced with an injury at our place of work or in an automobile accident – situations we often don’t contemplate until they happen.

HCS is a state-approved workers’ compensation managed care organization (WCMCO), providing a comprehensive suite of services designed to optimize outcomes for injured individuals. These include:

Robust Network and Provider Directory Management

HCS meticulously identifies providers with experience in both WC and PIP, contracting with those who offer the most pertinent services for the injured individual. The company has established contracts with nearly every hospital and all Level 1 and 2 trauma centers in New Jersey, encompassing initial treaters, specialists, physical therapy centers, ambulatory surgical centers, urgent care providers, diagnostic centers, and more. HCS utilizes a proprietary formula to highlight the best providers.

    Referral Services and Appointment Scheduling

HCS streamlines the referral process, connecting claimants with in-network providers to ensure they receive appropriate care at the appropriate cost.

    Utilization Management

Registered Nurses at HCS offer hospital discharge summaries of claimants. This allows clients to review and determine their next steps for handling claims.

    Monitoring and Evaluating Provider Performance

Maintaining quality of care is a priority, so Registered Nurses continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of providers within the network.

HCS also offers clients free access to its Outcomes Focused Network, a highly scrutinized subset of the overall network. Each provider is rigorously reviewed by HCS nurses to ensure quality care which includes access to in-network facilites and articulating causation statements.

Jackie Alonso, President of Horizon Casualty Services, emphasized the company’s commitment to exceptional service, stating, “HCS offers unparalleled service and an unbeatable PPO product in the NJ workers’ compensation and auto space.” She elaborated that the company’s proprietary software, skilled team, and in-depth understanding of the marketplace enable “an impeccable product with the deepest network discounts.” Alonso further added that the company is working to evolve its products and services to align with the needs of their clients. This engagement includes listening to feedback and meeting stakeholders where they are in order to maintain their position as an industry leader.

HCS’s commitment to collaboration allows its clients to experience a best-in-class WC and Auto PPO. For more information, contact:
