Canada Post operations resumed on Tuesday, December 17th.
Online Vehicle Registration services are now available. Please be aware that processing may be slower. If you registered your vehicle online but haven’t received confirmation, please call Contact PEI at 1-833-PEI(734)-1873 to arrange a pickup at your preferred Access PEI location.
Before renewing your vehicle registration, a certified mechanic must inspect your car. The mechanic will provide you with an inspection checklist indicating whether the vehicle passed or failed. This checklist is required for registration.
You can renew the registration online for the following vehicle types:
- Passenger cars or taxicabs
- Ambulances and hearses
- Light trucks under 4,100 kg
- Motorcycles and mopeds
- Snowmobiles
- Motor homes
- Utility trailers under 450 kgs
If your mailing address doesn’t match the address on your current registration, do not renew online. Instead, visit your nearest Access PEI location.
What You Need for Online Renewal:
- Current vehicle registration papers
- Valid pink liability insurance card (if required)
To find out the fees, visit Motor Vehicle Registration Fees.
Once your online payment is processed, your motor vehicle registration will be updated immediately and accessible to police authorities. Be sure to print and keep the payment receipt in your vehicle.
Allow approximately 30 days for your registration and sticker to arrive by mail. If they haven’t arrived after 30 days, please contact any Access PEI office.
Add a Reminder: Click the “Add a reminder” button to receive a notification when your motor vehicle registration or driver’s license is due for renewal. A notification will be sent to the email address you provide on the date you select.
Do not renew your registration online if your mailing address differs from the address on your registration.
This online service accepts payments via VISA, VISA Debit, MasterCard, and Debit MasterCard.
