LexisNexis Launches AI-Powered Solution to Expedite Property Claims

ATLANTA, Feb. 27, 2025 – LexisNexis® Risk Solutions has announced the availability of LexisNexis® Flyreel® for Claims, a new solution leveraging artificial intelligence to streamline property claims inspections. The tool is designed to provide insurance carriers with actionable data, aiming to speed up claims processing and improve accuracy.

Flyreel for Claims allows policyholders to initiate the claims process through a user-friendly app. This consumer-driven approach enables homeowners to capture detailed property information using their smartphones, which is then used to provide insurers with comprehensive data to accelerate claims handling and improve accuracy.

The insurance industry faces a number of challenges, including changing customer expectations, workforce shortages, and rising costs. Flyreel aims to address these issues by streamlining the First Notice of Loss (FNOL) process, enabling carriers to offer a faster and easier claims experience.

Key features of LexisNexis Flyreel for Claims include:

    • Efficiency and Cost Savings: By reducing the need for on-site claims adjusters, Flyreel helps to minimize operational costs, allowing carriers to handle larger claim volumes effectively and identify more complex cases for prioritized attention.

    • Consumer-Driven Tool: Policyholders can use a self-guided app to capture detailed property data and provide it at the start of the FNOL process. This data is then made immediately available to adjusters.

    • AI-Powered Insights: Flyreel performs virtual property claims inspections using high-resolution video, imagery, and data analysis. Assigned claims adjusters gain detailed measurements, 360-degree panoramic views, and preserved high-resolution details to streamline damage assessment and decision-making.

    • Streamlined Claims Investigations: Flyreel automates and accelerates claims investigations to support faster, more precise decision-making across the entire claims lifecycle.

    • Comprehensive and Scalable Solution: Flyreel integrates with underwriting and claims records to allow carriers to adapt the solution to their needs, ensuring scalability.

    • SDK-Enabled: Insurers can embed Flyreel for Claims into their existing apps and workflows for a streamlined consumer experience.

“Flyreel for Claims represents the next step in AI-driven technology for the insurance industry and the consumers they serve,” said Frank Cesario, director of claims at LexisNexis Risk Solutions. “Our recent home insurance consumer study found that 71% of homeowners prefer consumer-led mobile inspections when compared to traditional in-person inspections. By providing adjusters with earlier access to deeper insights within the claims process, Flyreel can reduce costs, enhance decision-making and support a more seamless customer experience.”

LexisNexis Risk Solutions leverages their expertise in insurance claims and loss experience. Flyreel for Claims expands on current Flyreel solutions for home and commercial insurance markets, demonstrating the growing importance of AI in tackling key challenges for the insurance industry.
