This week on The Weekly Catch, we delve into the ongoing issues concerning the Washington Bridge and their impact on the community. We’re also launching a new, community-focused project, “Breaking Point: The Washington Bridge,” to explore the bridge’s history, its consequences, and what lies ahead. We invite listeners to share their experiences and perspectives.

Additionally, the program addresses the growing challenges Rhode Islanders face regarding home insurance due to climate change. We explore how the state and homeowners can prepare for the increasing costs and potential impacts of climate-related events.

Finally, The Weekly Catch previews Track 15, a new food hall set to open in March in Providence’s historic Union Station. The hall will feature seven restaurants from local chefs and is poised to become a new culinary destination.

    Guests:

    • Sally Eisele, The Public’s Radio Chief Content Officer
    • Ian Donnis, The Public’s Radio political reporter
    • Elizabeth Dwyer, director of the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation
    • Chris Marsella, developer of Track 15 food hall

“The Weekly Catch” is produced by The Public’s Radio. Luis Hernandez hosts, James Baumgartner produces, Joe Tasca assists in production, and Mareva Lindo edits the show. Maddie Mott created the podcast artwork. Sally Eisele serves as Chief Content Officer, and Pam Johnston is the President and CEO.

Tune in to The Weekly Catch every Friday at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. You can also find episodes on your favorite podcast platforms on Friday afternoons. Subscribe on Spotify or Apple Podcasts; an RSS feed is also available.
