Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. announced on Monday the acquisition of Dyste Williams Insurance Agency, a Minneapolis-based brokerage. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Dyste Williams provides commercial lines, employee benefits, and personal lines insurance coverage to clients throughout the Upper Midwest, according to a statement released by Gallagher. As part of the acquisition, President and CEO Ted Dyste, Vice President Nels Dyste, and approximately 30 employees of Dyste Williams will remain in Minneapolis. They will operate as part of Gallagher Agency Alliance, under the leadership of Jen Tadin, who heads Gallagher Select, the U.S. property/casualty operations for small businesses and personal insurance.
J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman and CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., emphasized the strategic significance of the acquisition, stating that it would deepen Gallagher’s small-business capabilities.
Gallagher currently holds the position of the third-largest broker of U.S. business, based on the most recent rankings from Business Insurance.
