AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Better Business Bureau (BBB) of the Texas Panhandle is offering a free seminar to help residents protect themselves from identity theft.
According to BBB officials, the ‘BBB ID Theft & Imposter Scams Seminar’ will be held at the Amarillo Public Library, located on SW 45th Avenue. The seminar will be offered on two different dates: March 18 at 4 p.m. or March 20 at 9 a.m.
Attendees will learn how to:
- Recognize common and emerging scams.
- Safeguard personal information both online and offline.
- Take appropriate action if they become a victim of identity theft.
- Access available resources for ongoing support and assistance.
“Our goal is to equip individuals with the tools to prevent financial and personal information loss, which can be difficult to recover from,” said Janna Kiehl, BBB President.
