Allianz Extends Olympic and Paralympic Partnership

Allianz and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) have announced a four-year extension of their Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partnership (TOP Partnership), which will now cover the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games French Alps 2030 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games Brisbane 2032. This continues Allianz’s role as the Official Worldwide Insurance Partner.

The renewed agreement highlights Allianz’s ongoing commitment to providing essential support for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The global insurer will continue to offer risk management services, comprehensive protection for organizers, participants, and spectators, and athlete support through mentoring and career development programs.

Since 2021, Allianz has been a dedicated supporter of the Olympic Movement. Their involvement includes the Paris 2024, Milano Cortina 2026, and LA 2028 Games. Furthermore, the company has been working alongside the International Paralympic Committee since 2006, becoming a Worldwide Paralympic Partner in 2021.

During the Paris 2024 Games, Allianz played a significant role across several areas, including insurance coverage and athlete support. They offered medical assistance to 155,000 individuals, provided ticket cancellation insurance for spectators, and offered property and liability coverage for various venues.

Allianz CEO Oliver Bäte noted that the existing partnership has already generated positive business results and strengthened the Allianz brand. This success led to the decision to extend the agreement through 2032.

Allianz observed that the company’s global campaign for the Olympics, “Get Ready for the Best,” significantly contributed to double-digit growth in consumer recognition. Interbrand estimated Allianz’s brand value at $23.8 billion. In 2024, the company’s brand value actually reached $23.5 billion, up from $20.85 billion in 2023, representing an approximate increase of 12.7%. This growth propelled Allianz to the 29th position in Interbrand’s Best Global Brands ranking. It is considered the world’s most valuable insurance brand for the sixth consecutive year.

Outside of the Olympics, Allianz expanded its sponsorship portfolio by entering a 10-year, £100 million agreement in rugby. The agreement includes renaming Twickenham Stadium in London to Allianz Stadium.
