Veterans were recently honored at a ceremony at the K-W Elementary School in Wanamingo in November 2024. The school building will no longer be used by the school district starting in the 2025-26 academic year.
At the February 24 Kenyon-Wanamingo School Board meeting, the topic of maintaining property insurance for the Wanamingo Elementary building was discussed and debated extensively. After a lengthy process involving significant community input, the board, at the direction of Superintendent Giese, decided that Wanamingo Elementary would close at the end of this school year. Elementary students will then be moved to the Kenyon school building beginning with the 2025-26 school year.
