Sambhal Police Crack Down on Inter-State Tractor Insurance Fraud, Apprehend Four
Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh – Following the arrest of a suspect in an earlier inter-state life insurance scam, the Sambhal police have announced the arrest of four men involved in a sophisticated tractor insurance fraud. The gang is accused of swindling insurance firms by selling tractors from various states using falsified documentation.
“The gang operated by securing insurance for tractors and subsequently selling them without settling the loan amounts. They created forged documents to carry out their scheme,” stated Superintendent of Police (Sambhal) Krishna Kumar Bishnoi.
Those apprehended have been identified as:
- Rakesh, 52, a resident of Sambhal
- Chhatrapal, a resident of Badaun
- Abdul Kadir, 25
- Ahsan, a resident of Moradabad
According to authorities, the arrests were made based on evidence gathered during the investigation of an inter-state life insurance fraud, where twenty individuals were previously detained for allegedly issuing bogus insurance policies.
Additional Superintendent of Police Anukriti Sharma said, “We have recovered 22 tractors along with 26 Registration Certificates (RCs) from different states. The gang illegally sold the tractors without fully paying off their loans.”
Police have seized several RCs from various states, including eight from Chhattisgarh, four each from Orissa and Bihar, and five each from Assam and West Bengal.
The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under sections 316(2) (breach of trust), 318(4) (cheating), 338 (forgery of valuable documents), 336 (3) (altering documents or electronic records), and 340 (2) (using forged documents) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita.
