Manulife Asia Announces New CEO
Manulife Asia has appointed Steve Finch as its new President and CEO, effective May 9th. Finch will be taking over from Phil Witherington, who will become Manulife’s President and CEO on the same date.
Finch has been a key member of Manulife’s Executive Leadership team since 2016 and currently serves as the company’s Chief Actuary. During his tenure, he’s played a vital role in the company’s financial performance and transformation, including guiding major transactions.
Prior to his current role, Finch held several leadership positions during his 32 years with Manulife, including Chief Financial Officer of John Hancock, Manulife’s U.S. business, and General Manager of the U.S. Life Insurance division. In the latter role, he led the business to a position of market leadership in life insurance sales.
Manulife stated that Finch’s successor as Chief Actuary will be announced in due course.
