Cumbria Police’s Nuclear Estates Team seized a vehicle in Egremont on Monday, March 17, after discovering it was being driven without valid tax or insurance.
The vehicle was stopped on the A595. The driver was issued a traffic offense report, according to a social media post by Copeland Police.
“Cumbria Constabulary Nuclear Estates Team (CCNET) officers PC 2716 and PC 2102 were on patrol on the A595 in Egremont and stopped a vehicle which had no tax and no insurance,” the post stated. “The vehicle was seized and uplifted for having no tax, and the driver issued a traffic offence report for having no insurance.”
Driving without insurance carries a £300 fine and six penalty points. The driver is also responsible for the costs associated with recovering the vehicle.
