Emerald Bay Risk Solutions Names New CEO
Emerald Bay Risk Solutions has appointed Tracey Sharis as its new chief executive officer, effective March 20, 2025. Sharis, an industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, previously held leadership roles at Liberty Mutual Insurance, Ironshore Insurance, and Aon Benfield.
“As MGAs continue to capture market share and underwriting complexity increases, we are excited for the opportunity to scale the business to meet the evolving needs of both our program and capacity partners,” Sharis stated.
Penn Mutual Appoints Chief Financial Officer
Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company has announced the appointment of Rick Klenk as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective March 17, 2025. This promotion follows the planned departure of Dave Raszeja. In his new role, Klenk will oversee the company’s financial, risk, and product management teams. Klenk has been with Penn Mutual for over 35 years, beginning his career as an actuary; he previously held leadership positions at Nationwide and Lincoln Financial Group.
Further Leadership Changes
- Jewelers Mutual Group has named Chris Anderson as its new CFO and treasurer. Anderson previously served as a managing principal at Baker Tilly US.
- Ryan Alternative Risk has promoted Matt Havey to president, effective immediately. Havey joined Ryan Specialty in April 2024 as senior vice president of underwriting. “We have a lot of ground to cover, but I am energized each day by the direction of Ryan Alternative Risk, the innovative approach of our team, and the values of the organization,” Havey said.
- Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has promoted Theresa Biedermann to head of executive & professional lines claims in the US, after nine years with the company. Her prior role was leading commercial D&O and financial institutions claims.
- Crum & Forster (C&F) has elevated Chris Livingston to deputy chief information security officer. Livingston joined the company in June 2022 as a business information security officer and has contributed to C&F’s cybersecurity initiatives. In his new role, he will oversee security operations, engineering, and identity and access management.
