AM Specialty Insurance Company Appoints Stefanie Milch as Head of Claims

AM Specialty Insurance Company (ASIC) has announced the appointment of Stefanie Milch, Esq., as its new head of claims. Milch brings more than 25 years of experience in legal and leadership roles to the position. She will oversee the company’s claims operations.

Milch’s responsibilities encompass the development and implementation of claims strategies across various business lines. She is a licensed attorney in New York and Connecticut. Her background includes senior claims management positions at multiple major carriers and service providers, specializing in commercial auto liability, general liability, real estate, construction defect, healthcare, executive and professional liability, and aviation. Throughout her career, Milch has led claims teams, crafting operational frameworks that incorporate guidelines, metrics, and best practices designed to boost both efficiency and financial performance. The company stated that this appointment reflects its dedication to strengthening its claims capabilities within a broader client-centered risk management strategy.

AM Specialty also appointed Mary McKay as chief underwriting officer earlier in February for its managing general agency, Pinpoint Insurance Solutions.

Brown & Riding Names George Sella Co-leader of National Construction Practice

In another development in the commercial insurance sector, Brown & Riding has appointed George Sella as co-leader of its National Construction Practice. Sella will work in partnership with Chris Brown, the firm’s chairman and national casualty and construction practice leader, to lead the business unit.

Sella has over 15 years of experience in the industry. He became a principal at Brown & Riding in 2015. In this expanded leadership role, his focus will be on further integrating the construction group’s operations into a unified, multi-disciplinary practice serving clients across the US. Brown says that Sella’s appointment is in line with the firm’s strategic direction and investment in sector-specific leadership. Earlier in the month, the brokerage broadened its transportation practice with the appointment of Courtney Murphree, who will lead the division alongside Tim Pedersen Jr.
