Nationwide Appoints Jen Kyung to Lead New Property and Casualty Business Performance Office
Nationwide has appointed Jen Kyung to lead its newly formed Property and Casualty (P&C) Business Performance Office. With 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, Kyung is tasked with optimizing the business’s capabilities, standards, and performance across Nationwide’s P&C organization.

Kyung brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles. She spent over five years at USAA, where she led underwriting strategy and innovation, integrating AI solutions, automation, and enhanced data analytics to improve underwriting precision and customer solutions. Prior to USAA, Kyung held leadership positions at Ernst & Young, Zurich Insurance, and Accenture, where she developed foundational expertise in P&C underwriting operations.
“Nationwide’s P&C business is widely regarded as best in class across the industry,” Kyung said. “My goal is to take the work of our talented associates to the next level by finding ways to do things more efficiently, benefiting our customers and distribution partners.”
The new P&C Business Performance Office will work closely with Nationwide’s P&C businesses to identify common approaches, tools, and best practices that can be shared across the organization to increase efficiency and effectiveness. “Jen brings a data-driven approach to business transformation and a leadership style that fosters collaboration and innovation, making her the perfect choice for this role,” said Mark Berven, President and Chief Operating Officer of Nationwide Property & Casualty.
Kyung’s leadership is well respected in the P&C industry. She served as chair of the Insurance Information Institute’s Executive Leadership Committee from 2020 to 2024 and was recognized as one of Reuters’ Trailblazing Women in Insurance in 2024. Kyung began her new role on April 21, 2025.
