Alera Group announced Tuesday its acquisition of The Insurance Center, a brokerage based in Onalaska, Wisconsin. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Insurance Center has 11 locations across Wisconsin and one in Iowa, with over 140 employees. The firm offers commercial property and casualty insurance, as well as corporate benefits and personal lines coverage. The company was founded in 1966, initially focusing on providing health insurance to dairy farm families in Wisconsin.
According to a statement from Alera, The Insurance Center staff will remain in their current roles and continue to serve their clients. Alera, headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois, ranks as the 15th largest broker of U.S. business, according to the latest Business Insurance ranking.
