Aon plc has finalized the acquisition of the in-house insurance agency business of Mitsubishi Chemical Group (MCG), effective March 1st. This strategic move will integrate the business previously operating within Dia Rix, MCG’s internal services provider, into Aon’s operations.

This acquisition brings 100 new employees into Aon Japan, increasing its total workforce in the country to over 400. The primary focus of the acquired business will be to provide both corporate and personal lines of insurance to MCG group companies and their employees in Japan.
“This is a significant initiative in the industry, especially considering the shifts occurring in the Japanese non-life insurance market, changes that many Japanese companies are closely monitoring,” stated Tatsuya Yamamoto, head of Aon Japan, in a press release.
This deal underscores Aon’s continued expansion and strengthens its market position in the Asia-Pacific region. The addition of Mitsubishi Chemical’s insurance agency allows Aon to further solidify its services offered in the region, especially with companies expanding their presence in this market.
