Aon Acquires Mitsubishi Chemical’s In-House Insurance Agency
Tokyo, March 6, 2025 – Aon has successfully finalized the acquisition of the in-house insurance agency business of Mitsubishi Chemical Group (MCG) on March 1, 2025. The move is set to enhance Aon’s capacity in risk and human capital within the Japanese market.
Aon will now provide insurance services for both corporate and personal lines to MCG’s companies and employees in Japan. The operation will be overseen by Tatsuya Yamamoto, Aon’s head for Japan.
“In today’s rapidly evolving environment for in-house agencies, MCG pioneered this project by joining forces with Aon to better address the needs of their companies and employees. This is a significant initiative in the industry, following the changes in the Japanese non-life insurance market which many Japanese companies are likely following closely,” said Mr. Yamamoto.

Yamamoto added, “We will make every effort to ensure the integration of the in-house insurance agency is a success for MCG, Dia Rix and Aon.”
This acquisition reflects a strategic response to the evolving needs of the Japanese insurance market, potentially setting a precedent for other companies navigating similar challenges. The integration of MCG’s insurance operations into Aon aims to streamline services and provide comprehensive risk management solutions.
