Insurance Industry Updates
Insurance broker Aon plc has announced the appointment of Amanda Lyons as CEO of Aon Reinsurance Solutions Ltd. in Bermuda, effective July 1, pending regulatory and immigration approvals. Based in Bermuda, Lyons will drive the growth of Aon’s reinsurance platform on the island while continuing as global product leader for Reinsurance Solutions.
“Amanda is one of our premier casualty brokers and will continue serving her clients from the island,” commented Andy Marcell, Aon’s CEO of Risk Capital and Reinsurance. “Her appointment reflects Aon’s commitment to the Bermuda market and elevating our talent as we deliver career opportunities for colleagues.” Lyons will collaborate closely with Nick Moore, CEO of Aon Bermuda Ltd., to identify and deliver innovative access to capital for Aon’s clients.
In other industry news, Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has entered the UK programs business and appointed Rob Munden as head of Programs, UK. Munden, based in London, will build and lead BHSI’s programs business in the UK, leveraging the company’s underwriting expertise across various insurance lines. He brings 30 years of insurance industry experience and strong MGA relationships to his new role.
“This move further rounds out our capabilities in the UK and Europe, reflecting our long-term strategy to expand beyond traditional large customers to small and midsized businesses vital to our region,” said Mark Walker, head of National Business, UK, at BHSI. With Munden at the helm, BHSI aims to build a robust Programs business in the UK and throughout Europe.
