Ardonagh Group Launches Ardonagh Intelligence
The Ardonagh Group has announced the launch of Ardonagh Intelligence, a new division designed to integrate robotics, machine learning, and data enrichment across its operations. This move builds upon the company’s ongoing investment in data capabilities over the past six years.
Ardonagh Intelligence will consolidate the company’s technological expertise within a single framework. It will incorporate insights from the Ardonagh Analytics Lab in Mullingar, Ireland, which employs over 100 data scientists and programmers, as well as Ardonagh Portfolio Solutions, established in 2019 to use data analytics for group placement strategy.
According to CEO David Ross, this initiative will strengthen Ardonagh’s ability to manage $18 billion in gross written premium (GWP). Ongoing investment in data capabilities is expected to drive further efficiencies. “The further you wade into the global data lake we have assembled over the past six years, the more boundless the opportunities become to deliver efficiencies for our portfolio of companies, and extraordinary benefit to the millions of clients they serve,” Ross said.
This launch follows a strong financial performance for Ardonagh in 2024, with adjusted EBITDA reaching $683.4 million, a 31.2% increase year-over-year, and a 24% increase in reported income, reaching $1.98 billion. The company also expanded its workforce by nearly 1,700 employees and launched its first graduate scheme.
The new division will be led by Managing Director Sami Sulaiman, alongside Ian Donaldson, a key figure in digital insurance distribution, who will serve as chair. Ian Cooper, currently Ardonagh Advisory Data & MI director, will also move to the new unit. This move aims to extend the data expertise developed in the UK to commercial brokers globally.
Sulaiman, who joined Ardonagh after its acquisition of PSC Insurance Group, emphasized the importance of data-driven insights and AI-powered automation in improving business performance. “Ardonagh’s opportunity is unique because it brings together so many businesses which invested early and already excel in this field. By bringing together our global capabilities, we can extend the reach of that expertise and power it to go further and deeper,” he stated.
Donaldson highlighted the impact of digital insights across Ardonagh’s portfolio. He also pointed to the potential of a unified strategy to improve operations. “By bringing this work together under a unified strategy, we can support local leaders with a roadmap incorporating the latest technologies that will have an immediate and tangible impact on everything from improving productivity to identifying risk insights and growth opportunities, while continuing to invest in the future,” Donaldson said.
Ardonagh Intelligence represents the company’s continued effort to integrate data and analytics across its operations. The new division is expected to optimize decision-making, improve placement strategies, and enhance risk analysis for businesses within its portfolio, ultimately strengthening its market position and driving further efficiencies.
