Bangladesh: Green Delta Launches Country’s First Pet Insurance
Green Delta, a private insurance company in Bangladesh, has introduced the nation’s first pet insurance product. The new offering covers both dogs and cats, providing financial protection against accidental injuries, critical illnesses, and specific diseases.

Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The pet insurance policy provides coverage ranging from Tk20,000 ($164) to Tk80,000 for dogs and Tk10,000 to Tk30,000 for cats. This move comes as the market is ripe with opportunity, given the estimated 200,000 plus pet owners in Dhaka and Chattogram, the major cities in Bangladesh.
Green Delta has partnered with other businesses to offer policyholders additional benefits, including a 15% discount on pet products from Aster Pharmacy and a 10% discount on various services at Petland.
According to data from Allied Market Research, the global pet insurance market was valued at $10.1 billion in 2023. Projections estimate a surge to $38.3 billion by 2033, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 14.5%.
