GREENVILLE, S.C. – March 24, 2025 – Canal Insurance Company has announced the appointment of Sai Thotapalli as its Vice President, Chief Technology Officer. Thotapalli will bring over 25 years of experience in the insurance technology sector to the company.
Throughout his career, Thotapalli has held technical leadership roles at several major insurance companies, including Nationwide, State Farm, State Auto, and Great American Insurance Group. His expertise spans insurance, automation, IT governance, cloud computing, and enterprise architecture. He has a proven track record of leading technology modernization projects that improve operational efficiency, enhance the customer experience, and create competitive advantages.
Thotapalli earned his degree from Sri Sathya Sai University in India and holds a master’s degree in finance from Franklin University. Canal Insurance Company recognizes Thotapalli’s ability to leverage emerging technologies and streamline IT investments. The company explained that those skills will be instrumental in its efforts to invest in core business lines and expand within the Canal Financial Group.
