Chubb Launches New Division to Serve Small and Lower Middle Market Businesses
WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J., March 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Chubb (NYSE: CB) announced the formation of a new division within its North America Middle Market organization, bringing together its Lower Middle Market and Digital Small Business divisions. This combined unit, known as North America Small & Lower Midmarket, aims to enhance Chubb’s ability to serve clients in these important segments.
To lead the new division, Rob Poliseno has been appointed as Division President, Small & Lower Midmarket, reporting to Ben Rockwell, Division President, Chubb North America Middle Market. Jason Ranucci has been named Chief Operating Officer, Small & Lower Midmarket, reporting to Poliseno. Both appointments became effective immediately.
“The small business and lower middle market segments present significant growth and expansion opportunities for Chubb,” – Juan Luis Ortega, Executive Vice President, Chubb Group, and President, Chubb North America.
Ortega further explained that the new division integrates Chubb’s extensive underwriting experience in the Lower Middle Market with the agility of its Digital Small Business division. This integration allows Chubb to leverage its expertise and resources to better serve clients and drive growth.
Poliseno brings more than 28 years of industry experience, including nearly 17 years at Chubb, to his new role. Previously, he served as Division President, Small Business and North America Digital. His broad background in insurance underwriting and distribution, combined with a record of operational excellence, positions him well to lead the new division.
Ranucci, as COO, will have broad operational responsibilities, including P&L management, oversight of underwriting operations, and management of product, pricing, portfolio management, and analytics. With over 17 years in the insurance sector, he previously served as Head of North America Lower Middle Market. Before that, he was the Global Chief Underwriting Officer for Small Business.
“Launching this division represents an important milestone in how we serve the small and lower middle market business segment,” said Middle Market President Rockwell. “Rob and Jason will build on their successes in this space, leveraging our investments in a modern, automated and data-centric digital operating model that differentiates our approach to a wide range of companies across all industry practices and positions this business for robust growth. This division will offer more seamless coverage through a comprehensive suite of products and services, including P&C, Financial Lines, Cyber, Multinational, and Accident & Health, while offering agents the options of either a fully digital/automated experience or a digitally augmented service model.”
