The Oswego Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association and the Rotary Club of Oswego are teaming up to offer a paper shredding event for residents. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 5th, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Oswego Public Works Facility, located at 100 Theodore Drive. The shredding will continue until noon, or until the shredding trucks reach capacity. Residents are invited to bring up to three large file boxes of documents for secure shredding. The event will operate as a drive-through service. Participants should place the boxes in their vehicle trunks, ready for easy drop-off. Volunteers will empty the boxes and return them to the drivers. This event provides a convenient way for community members to protect themselves against identity theft. Documents containing personal identifiable information are prime targets for criminals. Sensitive documents such as receipts, insurance forms, and medical statements should be shredded to safeguard against potential fraud.
