CTF Life Launches ‘GBA MediAccess’ to Serve Greater Bay Area Travelers

HONG KONG, March 24, 2025 – CTF Life announced the introduction of its ‘GBA MediAccess’ Outpatient Insurance Plan (‘GBA MediAccess’ or the ‘Plan’) today. This plan is specifically tailored for individuals who often travel between Hong Kong, Macau, and select cities within the Greater Bay Area (GBA).

By utilizing the extensive medical network of The GBA Healthcare Group (GBAH), a part of Chow Tai Fook (CTF) Enterprises, the Plan promises to provide accessible and high-quality medical services. CTF Life is capitalizing on the wide-ranging resources of the CTF Group to provide clients with superior experiences and added advantages beyond standard insurance.

A significant feature of GBA MediAccess is CTF Life’s partnership with GBAH, making it the first insurer to offer outpatient consultations for traditional Chinese medicine. The Plan offers three levels of coverage, including designated cities within the GBA, as well as Hong Kong and Macau. It breaks new ground in the market by offering coverage for outpatient consultations with both Western and traditional Chinese medical practitioners, along with dental scaling services and value-added health management benefits for the customer, as well as up to two family members.

The Plan provides thorough services that include online and offline general practitioner consultations, covering up to three days of prescribed basic medication. Furthermore, there are traditional Chinese medical outpatient consultations, dental scaling, and two value-added services, designed to provide proactive health management and chronic disease management.

This all-encompassing solution is designed to cater to the health needs of customers and their families, offering services that range from health screenings and continuous monitoring to health education. The Plan sets a strong base for personal and family healthcare, giving clients peace of mind as they travel within the GBA.

CTF Life entered into a strategic partnership with GBAH in early 2024, creating an alliance with the 3A hospitals in the GBA under GBAH’s network to provide premium medical services. This collaboration not only makes healthcare more efficient and reduces costs, but also improves the customer service experience. This deeper collaboration strengthens this partnership, actively supporting the Hong Kong SAR government’s efforts to develop the GBA by providing high-quality medical services to customers who travel frequently across the region.

Jarita Kwan, Chief Product Officer of CTF Life, commented: “With the rapid progress in the GBA, there’s a growing demand for healthcare coverage across the region. ‘GBA MediAccess’ is designed to meet the changing lifestyles of our customers as well as the increasing popularity of integrated Chinese and Western medical treatments. It allows customers and their families in the GBA to benefit from the CTF Group’s diverse resources, getting premium Chinese and Western healthcare services through GBAH. The Plan introduces market-first family coverage for up to three members to co-use services under a single plan, including Western and traditional Chinese medical outpatient services and dental scaling, fully underscoring CTF Life’s commitment to being people-focused and customer-centric. Moreover, CTF Life is the first insurer to partner with GBAH to offer Chinese medical outpatient consultations. We look forward to further strengthening our collaboration with GBAH to launch more services that cater to customer needs, creating value beyond health.”

Dr. Felix Lee, Co-CEO of The GBA Healthcare Group, stated: “Our deepened collaboration with CTF Life responds to the evolving cross-border lifestyles and retirement needs in the GBA. Through ‘GBA MediAccess,’ customers and their families can book appointments with internationally accredited GOLDTM-certified family doctors, gaining access to a comprehensive range of healthcare services.”

Key Features of the GBA MediAccess Plan:

    1. Family Coverage: The Plan covers the customer and up to two designated family members, providing comprehensive health and medical support.
    2. Outpatient Consultations: Includes both online and offline general practitioner consultations. Customers can receive up to a three-day supply of basic medication with free delivery for online consultations. Face-to-face consultations are available in designated GBA cities, Hong Kong, and Macau.
    3. Traditional Chinese Medicine and Dental Services: Offers traditional Chinese medical treatments at designated clinics and dental scaling services annually.
    4. Health Management: Provides proactive health management by GOLDTM doctors and nurses from GBAH, including assessments, setting health targets, and lifestyle recommendations. It also offers chronic disease management programs.
