Dai-ichi Life and Capgemini Launch GCC in Hyderabad

Japanese life insurance giant Dai-ichi Life Group has joined forces with French IT services major Capgemini to establish its first global capability center (GCC) outside Japan in Hyderabad, India. This strategic partnership aims to accelerate Dai-ichi Life’s digital transformation globally.

The GCC, set up on a build-operate-transfer model, was inaugurated at Capgemini’s Hyderabad facilities. It will enhance Dai-ichi Life’s in-house capabilities and technology platforms by driving innovation and operational efficiency worldwide. The collaboration initially spans Japan, the United States, and Australia, leveraging the GCC’s digital capabilities in areas such as advanced software development, infrastructure modernization, AI, data solutions, and robust cybersecurity measures.

The new GCC is designed to be flexible, with the potential to expand into other countries based on market needs. It aims to tap into India’s deep pool of skilled professionals to support Dai-ichi Life Group’s global ambitions. Capgemini will bring its end-to-end capabilities, including its strong presence and delivery track record in Japan, Asia Pacific, and globally, to enable Dai-ichi Life’s transformation agenda.

The partnership focuses on co-innovating solutions to streamline operations, harness data analytics and AI, and fortify cybersecurity defenses to ensure a seamless and enhanced customer experience. Tetsuya Kikuta, President and CEO of Dai-ichi Life Holdings, stated, “This strategic partnership supports our long-term ambition to build differentiated internal capabilities through the establishment of our GCC.”

Aiman Ezzat, CEO of Capgemini, added, “By combining Dai-ichi Life’s deep industry knowledge with Capgemini’s global business and technology transformation expertise, our partnership will help unlock new value for Dai-ichi Life Group and set new benchmarks in customer service and operational efficiency.”

This collaboration marks a significant step in Dai-ichi Life’s digital transformation journey, leveraging India’s technological capabilities to drive global innovation and efficiency.
