Falvey Insurance Group General Counsel Robert E. Falvey Retires After 26 Years
Falvey Insurance Group has announced the retirement of Robert E. Falvey, Esq., AMIM, AIC, from his role as general counsel after 26 years with the company. He will remain involved with the organization as a senior advisor and member of the board of directors.
During his tenure, Falvey established and led the company’s legal department, overseeing matters related to underwriting, loss prevention, claims recoveries, and regulatory compliance. He also developed Falvey’s legal internship program, supporting the firm’s engagement with legal education and talent development. In addition to his responsibilities within the company, Falvey has served as an adjunct professor of law at Roger Williams University School of Law, where he has taught and mentored students pursuing careers in insurance and maritime law. He is also an active member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States.
Jack Falvey, CEO of Falvey Insurance Group, praised Robert’s contributions, saying, “He has set the tone for excellence at Falvey, and we are proud to carry his legacy forward. We are honored he will continue to be part of our future in his new role.” The company indicated that while Robert Falvey is stepping back from daily operations, his continued presence on the board will provide ongoing strategic insight. The company has not yet announced a successor for the General Counsel role.
This retirement follows other recent leadership changes at Falvey Insurance Group. Earlier this year, the company announced a leadership transition with Mike Falvey moving into the role of executive chairman and Jack Falvey assuming the position of CEO. In March, Falvey Insurance Group also expanded its board of directors with the appointment of Gina Perini, chair and CEO of Somos, Inc., bringing experience in global communications, technology, and operational strategy.
The transition reflects the company’s broader strategic plan for long-term organizational continuity and governance. Falvey Insurance Group is positioning itself for future success while maintaining continuity with its experienced leadership.
