Higginbotham, a Texas-based independent firm offering insurance, financial, and HR services, has announced a new association with Program Insurance Group of Georgetown, Texas. The company also intends to integrate EZ CERT, a nationwide insurance certificate tracking service.
Higginsbotham’s chairman and CEO, Rusty Reid, noted that Program Insurance Group aligns with the company’s values and serves a diverse clientele, particularly homebuilders in Texas.
EZ CERT simplifies compliance and provides coverage oversight for franchisors. Doug Groves, who acquired Program Insurance Group in 2010, expanded the company’s focus from homebuilders to franchise firms, using EZ CERT for tracking various coverages across franchisee portfolios. Higginbotham plans to integrate the now widely-used EZ CERT into its broader network.
Recent Acquisitions
Throughout 2024, Higginbotham completed multiple acquisitions:
- In April, Eagan Insurance Agency joined Higginbotham. The agency is based in Metairie, Louisiana.
- Fountain, Parker, Harbarger & Associates, located in Huntsville, Alabama, was also acquired, expanding Higginbotham’s presence in the southeastern United States.
By November of last year, Higginbotham had finalized a total of 74 acquisitions.
Earlier this year, Higginbotham partnered with Cattle Raisers Insurance to provide insurance solutions to ranchers, landowners, and businesses across Texas, expanding access to industry resources.
