The California Department of Insurance revealed on February 18, 2025, that an insurance fraud ring allegedly targeted victims of car accidents, where vehicles are towed and held at repair shops in exchange for substantial cash payments.
The same ring was previously implicated in a similar scheme in San Bernardino County in 2022.
