Insurance Industry Job Moves: Leadership Appointments Announced

Aon
Aon plc (NYSE: AON) has announced a transition in leadership. Eric Andersen is stepping down as president to assume a senior advisor role to CEO Greg Case through June 2026. Case will take over the president role. Andersen has been with Aon since its acquisition of Minet in 1997 and has been instrumental in the firm’s ‘Aon United’ strategy.
Premium Credit

Premium Credit has appointed Hayley Thomas as Head of Business Operations to bolster its strategic hires. She will report directly to the Chief Operations & People Officer. Thomas brings expertise from KPMG, Qantas, Amazon, and Funding Circle.
Marsh
Marsh, a part of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC), announced the appointment of Adam Russell as Head of Global Wholesale, effective immediately. Based in London, Russell will report to John Donnelly, President, Global Placement, Marsh. He will oversee Marsh’s global wholesale insurance broking operations and support clients.
Sun Life Financial

Sun Life Financial Inc. (TSX: SLF) (NYSE: SLF) has appointed Bennet Li as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Asia, effective immediately. He will report to Tim Deacon and Manjit Singh. Li, previously interim CFO for Asia, will be responsible for financial strategies and capital allocation in the region.
Embroker
Embroker has appointed Stephen Easley as Vice President of Underwriting. With over 25 years of experience, Easley will focus on expanding Embroker’s underwriting capabilities and enhancing insurance products.
Allianz Commercial
Allianz Commercial has announced Lara Martiner as the new Global Head of Alternative Risk Transfer, effective April 1, 2025. Martiner, currently CEO of Allianz Risk Transfer AG, will succeed Grant Maxwell. Alternative Risk Transfer is a strategic growth area for Allianz Commercial.
ARAG
ARAG has appointed Nathan Holt as Director of Underwriting. Holt will take over from David Haynes at the start of April. Holt will oversee all underwriting responsibilities for ARAG’s insurance and assistance products and will join the UK Executive Management Committee.
Coplus
Coplus has appointed David Shaw as Sales Director. Based in Dublin, Ireland, Shaw brings nearly three decades of experience to the company.
IUA

The International Underwriting Association (IUA) has appointed Chris Jones as Chief Executive, effective May 1, 2025. Jones will replace Dave Matcham, who is retiring after 20 years as head of the IUA.
Acrisure Re

Acrisure Re US, Ltd. (“Acrisure Re”) has promoted Tom Deane to Managing Director, Head of Acrisure Re Corporate Advisory & Solutions, LLC (“ARCAS US”). Deane will oversee ARCAS US and will continue reporting to Ben Canagaretna.
Howden

Howden has appointed Sian England as Account Executive, as part of its growth plans for 2025. England has over 30 years of experience in the corporate and commercial insurance sector and will be responsible for client relationship management.
Tokio Marine HCC International
Tokio Marine HCC International (TMHCCI) has appointed Rebecca Eagles as Senior Underwriter – Marine Cargo, based in London. She will report to Richard Golder, Head of Marine Cargo, and is to support the growth of TMHCCI’s cargo business.
Marsh (Second Appointment)

Marsh has appointed Amy Barnes as Global Head of Energy & Power, effective immediately. Based in London, she will report to Andrew George, President of Marsh Specialty. Barnes will drive strategy and innovation across Marsh’s global network and will also retain her current responsibilities as Head of Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy, Marsh.
Clowd9
Clowd9 has appointed Patrick Butler as Head of Risk and Governance. Butler brings over two decades of expertise in banking operations, risk and culture management.
Canopius Group

Canopius Group has appointed Candace Steele as Group Risk Director, starting March 17, 2025. Steele will report to Sheldon Lacy, Group Chief Risk Officer, and will be responsible for coordinating Canopius’ risk framework.

Volt Underwriting has appointed Chris Haines to lead its entry into Ports, Terminals & Logistics risks. Haines was most recently head of P&T for AIG in London.
