King Risk Partners has announced the acquisition of the Kerr Agency Inc., an independent insurance agency based in Simsbury, Connecticut. This strategic move is part of King Risk Partners’ growth plan, designed to strengthen its presence in the Northeast through partnerships with established agencies like Kerr.
Kerr Agency has been a trusted provider of insurance services to clients in Simsbury and across Connecticut since 1927. The firm offers a comprehensive suite of personal and business insurance solutions, fostering long-term client relationships built on trust and service.
Malcolm King, CEO of King Risk Partners, emphasized the significance of the acquisition, stating that it would “boost its presence in Connecticut while enhancing its ability to serve clients in the region.” Craig Kubasek of the Kerr Agency echoed this sentiment, explaining that the partnership will allow the firm to “expand its personal and business insurance offerings while maintaining service standards for clients.”
This latest acquisition adds to King Risk Partners’ portfolio of successful deals. Since 2021, the company has completed a total of 21 acquisitions, with its most active year being 2022, during which it secured 10 M&A deals. Adding to its footprint, earlier this month, the brokerage expanded into Ohio with the acquisition of the Dayton-based Barker, Beck, Collins & Kronauge Agency (BBC&K). Founded in 1923, BBC&K provides various insurance products, including personal and commercial insurance, as well as group health and long-term care services.
In January, King Risk Partners announced two major deals. The first involved the acquisition of Bruce Hendry Insurance, an independent insurance agency located in Immokalee, Florida. The second was the acquisition of Viper Risk Management Group, another Florida-based insurance company. Viper Risk Management provides specialized insurance solutions for a diverse range of industries, including racetracks/motorsports, manufacturers, restaurants and taverns, and many others.
In December, Talbert Insurance Services, a Duluth, Georgia-based broker that has served clients across the state for over 40 years, also joined the King Risk Partners banner.
