Life Insurance Corporation of India Sets New Guinness World Record
The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has achieved the Guinness World Record (GWR) title for “most life insurance policies sold in 24 hours.” On January 20, 2025, a total of 4,52,839 LIC agents successfully completed and issued an impressive 5,88,107 life insurance policies across various locations in India.
This remarkable feat was part of the “Mad Million Day” initiative, where agents were encouraged to complete at least one policy within a 24-hour period. The record sale was verified by GWR, recognizing the extraordinary performance of LIC’s dedicated agency network. The achievement sets a new global benchmark for agent productivity in the life insurance industry within a 24-hour timeframe.
LIC’s CEO & MD, Siddhartha Mohanty, highlighted that this accomplishment reflects the Corporation’s deep commitment to providing vital financial protection to its customers and their families. This milestone demonstrates the extensive reach and capability of LIC’s agency network across India.
