The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has appointed Shatmanyu Shrivastava as Chief Risk Officer (CRO), effective March 19, 2025, according to a recent exchange filing.
Shrivastava’s appointment was approved by the LIC Board of Directors and marks a significant development for the state-owned insurer. He joined LIC in 1990 as a direct recruitment officer and has had a distinguished career spanning over three decades within the company. During his tenure, he has gained experience at all levels of LIC’s organizational structure.
Shrivastava’s experience includes work at branch, divisional, zonal, and central offices. He joined the central office as Chief (F&A) in May 2022 and played a key role in the first closing of LIC’s accounts following its IPO. He has experience in navigating compliance under SEBI (LODR) and IRDAI regulations.
A fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Insurance Institute of India (qualified in 2000), Shrivastava is also pursuing actuarial studies. He has successfully completed seven papers of the actuarial examination administered by the Institute of Actuaries of India.
