McClone Insurance Announces Passing of Former President Michael McClone

Menasha, WI – McClone Insurance announced the passing of Michael McClone on February 22, 2025. He was 74 years old. McClone dedicated decades to the company, leading it until his retirement in 2018.

During his tenure, McClone oversaw significant company expansion and cultivated a company culture centered on the values he prioritized, including integrity, hard work, and community service. His son, Dustin McClone, the current president and chief executive, reflected on his father’s lasting influence:

“Even if you never had the chance to meet my dad, you can feel his impact throughout our organization. He believed in leading by example – always choosing to do the right thing, even when it wasn’t the easiest path.”

Wisconsin Governor Announces Healthcare Industry Changes

In related news, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers recently announced plans to overhaul certain aspects of the state’s healthcare industry as part of his 2025-27 Biennial Budget Message. He outlined several key initiatives aimed at addressing insurance company practices and prescription drug pricing.

Governor Evers stated his intention to audit insurance companies that deny healthcare claims, emphasizing the need for justifiable reasons for such actions. He explained, “If an insurance company is going to deny your healthcare claim, they should have a darn good reason for it. Under my plan, if an insurance company is denying Wisconsinites’ claims too often, we’re going to audit them. Pretty simple.”

Additionally, the Governor is focused on reducing appointment wait times and lowering out-of-pocket healthcare expenses for medication, declaring, “Wisconsinites should be able to get the healthcare they need when they need it. But I hear from folks all the time who feel like they’re getting ripped off by the healthcare industry and insurers. Wisconsinites aren’t getting a fair shake when it comes to healthcare, and I want to change that.”
