MetLife Bangladesh Leads in Life Insurance Claims Settlement for 2024
MetLife Bangladesh has settled the highest amount of claims among all life insurance companies in the country in 2024, according to data released by the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA). The company paid out Tk2,895 crore in insurance claims last year, achieving a strong claims settlement ratio of 97.79% – one of the highest in the industry.
The total claims settled included Tk237 crore for health and medical expenses, Tk140 crore for death claims, and Tk2,518 crore for maturity, partial maturity, and other benefits. Over the past five years (2020-2024), MetLife Bangladesh has paid out more than Tk11,400 crore in insurance claims, demonstrating its long-standing commitment to policyholders.
“By settling the highest amount of claims in 2024, we’ve shown that MetLife stands firmly behind its commitment,” said Ala Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of MetLife Bangladesh. “Every claim we pay is a reflection of our promise to be there when our customers need us most.”
