NFP, a leading provider of property and casualty insurance, benefits consulting, wealth management, and retirement planning as part of the Aon group, has announced the appointment of Darrin De Stephanis as Senior Vice President, Capital Solutions and Commercial Surety Growth Leader. Based in Vancouver, De Stephanis will report to Adrian Pellen, co-leader of NFP’s Construction and Infrastructure (C&I) Group.

This strategic appointment is part of NFP’s plan to bolster its construction and infrastructure services across North America, with a particular focus on the commercial surety sector. De Stephanis will concentrate on market development, relationship management, and expanding surety-related services to meet the growing demand from clients navigating an increasingly complex construction environment.

De Stephanis brings over a decade of experience in the surety industry to his new role. Most recently, he managed a national commercial surety portfolio at Intact Insurance, overseeing underwriting and strategy for a diverse range of clients. His career began as a broker with Aon, where he specialized in surety and subcontractor default insurance. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is currently a member of the social committee of CFA Society Vancouver.

The addition of De Stephanis aligns with NFP’s broader strategy to offer integrated risk management solutions in the construction and infrastructure sectors. His appointment is part of a collaborative approach within the C&I Group, which is co-led by Adrian Pellen and John Hyland, alongside Thomas Henn, who heads NFP’s surety operations. This team provides clients with tailored advice on bonding, capital access, and risk transfer strategies.

NFP’s C&I Group operates across both the United States and Canada, serving clients involved in large-scale development, infrastructure, and construction projects. The group works with both public and private entities to provide contract surety, commercial surety, and financial guarantee solutions.
