Pets Plus Us and CFIB have joined forces to make pet insurance more accessible.

Pets Plus Us, a prominent provider of pet insurance, has recently announced a collaboration with the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB). This partnership aims to extend pet insurance coverage to over 100,000 small businesses and their employees throughout Canada.

Pet insurance offers a valuable safety net for pet owners, helping to alleviate the financial strain of unexpected veterinary costs. For small business owners and their employees, having pet insurance can be crucial in providing their pets with the best possible care without financial worry.

“Pets Plus Us is committed to the health and well-being of Canada’s pets, and we are proud to partner with the CFIB to serve the small business community and make pet insurance more accessible,” said Eric Coulson, Senior Managing Director of Insurance Growth, Expansion & Strategy in Canada at Pets Plus Us.

In Canada, the average veterinary visit for an accident or illness can exceed $500, and surgery bills can surpass $1,000. Considering that almost 60% of Canadian households own pets, unexpected veterinary expenses are a common concern. Without pet insurance, many small business owners and their employees might face difficult choices concerning their finances and their pets’ healthcare.

Through this partnership, CFIB members, their employees, and their families will receive several benefits, including:

    • A special discount on Pets Plus Us pet insurance.
    • Coverage up to $15,000 annually for veterinary care, including treatments for eligible accidents and illnesses, such as consultations, exams, emergency care, hospitalization, medications, surgery, anesthesia, and specialist referrals.
    • Complimentary services, including 24/7 emergency telehealth support, access to the Pet Poison Helpline, and pet bereavement support.

“We recognize the growing demand for pet insurance across the country and are excited to partner with Pets Plus Us to deliver ongoing value to CFIB members, their employees, and their families by making it even more affordable,” stated Dan Kelly, President and CEO of CFIB.

The Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) stands as Canada’s largest association for small and medium-sized businesses. CFIB is dedicated to enhancing business owners’ success by influencing policy changes at all governmental levels, offering expert advice and resources, and negotiating exclusive savings for its members.
