Rokstone Group Launches New U.S. Commercial Risks MGA

Rokstone Group Ltd., a unit of Aventum Group Ltd., has announced the debut of Rokstone Commercial Risks, a new managing general agent (MGA) in the United States. This new venture will focus on the excess and surplus (E&S) lines market.

The new MGA is based in Alpharetta, Georgia and will offer underwriting services related to casualty risks. Capacity will be provided by A-rated Lloyd’s syndicates on a multiyear, nonadmitted basis. The announcement indicates that the new division anticipates writing $150 million in annual premiums by its fifth year of operation.

Leading the MGA is John Larkins, who is based in Richmond, Virginia. Larkins brings experience from his previous role as senior vice president and head of general liability at Hudson Insurance Group. Rokstone Commercial Risks will give direct access to E&S products for small and mid-sized commercial risks, including general liability, liquor liability, excess liability, and property coverages.

To support the new MGA, Rokstone Commercial Risks has made key hires. Pepper Sleight, formerly Hudson’s head of general liability binding and programs in Scottsdale, Arizona, has been appointed as senior vice president of underwriting. In addition, Scott Powell, based in Crystal River, Florida, has been named vice president of underwriting.
