Sambhal Police Crack Down on Tractor Fraud Ring
Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh – Following up on the bust of a gang issuing fake insurance policies last month, Sambhal police announced on Monday the arrest of four men connected to an inter-state operation. This gang is accused of defrauding insurance companies by selling tractors obtained with forged documents.

Superintendent of Police (Sambhal) Krishna Kumar Bishnoi elaborated on the modus operandi: “The gang financed the tractors through insurance companies and subsequently sold them without remitting the loan amount. They employed forged documentation to deceive the insurance companies.”
The arrested individuals have been identified as Rakesh, 52, a resident of Sambhal; Chhatrapal, a resident of Badaun; and Abdul Kadir, 25, along with Ahsan, both residents of Moradabad.
According to officials, the arrests came after an earlier apprehension of an individual linked to the inter-state life insurance fraud.
Additional Superintendent of Police Anukriti Sharma stated, “We have recovered 22 tractors along with 26 registration certificates (RCs) from different states. The gang members were illegally selling the tractors despite outstanding loans.”
Authorities have recovered RCs from several states, including eight from Chhattisgarh, four each from Orissa and Bihar, and five each from Assam and West Bengal.
The First Information Report (FIR) has been filed under sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita pertaining to breach of trust, cheating, forgery of valuable documents, altering documents, and using forged documents.
