Ahn Se-young (23, Samsung Life Insurance) continued her dominant form by securing her fourth consecutive women’s singles title. This victory further solidified her status as a top contender in the sport. Badminton legend Lee Yong-dae (37, Yonex Playing Coach), who stepped in as a temporary visiting coach, played a significant role in supporting the team.

In men’s doubles, Seo Seung-jae (28, Samsung Life Insurance) and Kim Won-ho (26, Samsung Life Insurance) also brought glory to the team by winning the title. This victory marks the first time in 13 years that Korea has held the men’s doubles title, following Lee Yong-dae and Jung Jae-sung’s win in 2012.

Lee Yong-dae’s presence on the coaching staff proved beneficial, providing support and guidance to the players. His expertise was particularly valuable given the current vacancy in the national team’s coaching staff. The team has been without a permanent coach for three months, following the resignation of the previous coaching staff, including former coach Kim Hak-kyun.
In addition to the victories in women’s singles and men’s doubles, the Korean team also secured a bronze medal in mixed doubles, with Jongmin Lee (Samsung Life Insurance) and Chae Yoo-jeong (Incheon International Airport) contributing to the team’s overall success. Seo Seung-jae and Kim Won-ho’s win, competing together for the first time this year has made them a strong force in the field. The focus now turns toward the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi and Nagoya, and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
