    State Farm Deploys Catastrophe Response Team to Help California Wildfire Victims

    State Farm’s Catastrophe Response Team has been deployed to California to support residents affected by the recent wildfires. The team is equipped to handle catastrophe claims and is prepared to respond to customers’ needs in the face of these devastating fires.

    As of June 12, State Farm has received over 12,870 claims related to the fires and has paid out more than $4.03 billion to California customers. A Catastrophe Customer Care site has been established in Pasadena, California, to provide in-person claim assistance and support.

    Immediate Support for Customers

    State Farm is offering various forms of assistance to customers affected by the wildfires, including:

    • Filing claims through local agents, by calling 1-800-SF-CLAIM, or using the State Farm mobile app
    • Premium payment extensions for those facing financial strain
    • Virtual meetings and inspections with claim representatives

    Protecting Customers from Fraud

    State Farm is also warning customers about potential scams and providing tips to protect themselves, such as:

    • Being cautious when dealing with contractors and verifying their references and licenses
    • Not signing documents without fully understanding them
    • Insisting on written estimates and work contracts

    State Farm has increased advance contents payments to customers with total losses from 50% to 65% of their contents limit without requiring an inventory. The company is committed to supporting its customers through the recovery process.
